What happens in the Discovery Call?
In this initial 20 minute Zoom call, you will meet with one the owners of The Nest. The goal is to ensure you come away with a clear sense of who we are and what we offer. Once we understand what you are looking for in a birth doula, we will match you with one of The Nest’s professionals, who will then connect with you to introduce herself. You can share more about your pregnancy journey and wishes with the birth doula to determine if she is a good fit for you. We love to meet new couples and would thoroughly enjoy talking with you!
My wife was very interested in the Placenta pills after reading a ton of information about them. She gave me the job to find a way to do it. I searched high and low and read a ton of reviews etc and landed with the Nest. Alex was incredible and so communicative and made the process seamless, it felt like a friend helping through the whole process. I’m still in awe how great the process was and just incredibly thankful for Alex and the company. We’re truly grateful.
Our doula was amazing!
Alex was an Angel for us during this exciting yet new time as first time parents. I was so excited for a dream birth with the support of Alex, until we found out that our baby was breech and we needed to have a scheduled c-section instead. She was such a great support in giving me tips to help naturally help baby to flip but once she hadn't, she was the positive and calm that I needed for our change of plans.
She was such a ray of light and joy leading up to the c-section and on the day of! Helped me feel so calm, confident and excited to meet our baby! I can't imagine her not being there during surgery. She prayed over me on the table and that will forever be one of the most memorable moments of my life. It's like she knew exactly what I needed during that time whether it was to massage my tense shoulders, essential oils to subside my nausea, smiles and laughter during such an exciting time of her being born, hold our new baby so my husband could be there for me when I needed his hand to hold and took so many amazing photos - I could go on and on!
Having her come to our home a week after she was born to check in and give any further support was amazing and exactly what we needed. I've told her a few times we will be calling her for our next babies!! Again - I cannot rave about her or The Nest enough! Forever grateful for everyone involved to make our birth the best possible outcome that it could have been.

Although my birth didn’t go exactly as I had hoped for and I ultimately delivered via C-section, I truly couldn’t have done it without her. Her presence, guidance, and advocacy were everything I needed. Our beautiful baby girl was welcomed into the world surrounded by so much love and care.
